He attended Abbeydale Grange School in Sheffield and trained with City of Sheffield Athletics Club in South Yorkshire. He achieved the 3rd fastest under-17 100m time in the UK (10.51 seconds) at the age of 16. He represented the UK as a sprinter until he started competing for Zambia in 2009. He now lives and trains in the United States and competes internationally for Zambia.
