On 14 December 2014, Kalale and two team-mates, [[Nyambe Mulenga]] and [[Satchmo Chakawa]], were traveling to Lusaka on a [[Zesco United]] bus to join Zambia's pre-Nations Cup training camp when their minibus collided head-on with another vehicle. The accident occurred outside [[Kitwe]].
