== Personal life==
Mampi was born Mirriam Mukape on 4 August 1986 she started singing at age of 13 at church services on Sundays. The day she lost her mother that's when life around her started to change. At the age of 16 she she become a double orphan as she lost her father with no one to pay for my school so she could further her education and she opted to go into prostitution because it was the toughest time of her life. She held on to one thing prayer which gave her hope until one of her friends and her sister took her in. At this point she thought of doing something with her life and so she started to go the studio to record her music until her music started playing on radio but even then she performed for free for about a year or two because she was passionate about what she was doing hence also gaining experience. Her hard work paid off as Danny Kaya came along and gave her some direction in music through his advice from the
dancehall music to the
image that includes her stage costumes and stage presence and slowly her music career started to take shape.<ref name=ZMR>{{cite web|title= Mampi shares her life story |url= https://www.lusakatimes.com/2016/04/04/mampi-shares-life-story/ |publisher= Lusaka Times |accessdate=24 May 2016}}</ref>
