Cherry Muchindu

Cherry Muchindu is a Zambian female weightlifter and strength athlete renowned for her achievements in Strongman competitions. She became the first indigenous African to win a bronze medal at the Arnold Classics Strongman Championships in Washington, USA.

Professional career

In 2022, Muchindu made headlines by lifting 250 kilograms, and she has since surpassed this accomplishment by lifting 270 kilograms, breaking her previous record of 260 kilograms.

A veteran in the field, Muchindu has represented Zambia four times and the African continent once in various Strongman competitions. She is also a qualified personal trainer and strength and conditioning coach through the International Sports Science Association, as well as a certified yoga instructor with Kuthula Yoga.

In October 2023, Muchindu successfully defended her African title in the Lady's Open category at the Africa Championship in Livingstone, showcasing her continued dominance in the sport.
