WHO WE ARE

The Zambia Daily Mail is Limited Company whose equity is wholly subscribed by the Government of the Republic of Zambia. The Company is incorporated under the companies Act, Cap 388 of the Laws of Zambia and is one of the leading publishers of daily and weekly newspapers in Zambia.


HISTORY

The history of Zambia Daily Mail Limited dates back to the 1950s when it used to be called African Mail, the forerunner to the Central African Mail. The name later changed to Zambia Mail after independence in 1964. It was later bought by the Zambian Government from private owners. It became a daily Newspaper in 1970 and the name changed to Zambia Daily Mail. Sunday Mail and Financial Mail were introduced to widen the scope of coverage. The Financial Mail has since been phased out. After introducing the two additional publications, Zambia Daily Mail computerized its operations in 1994.It is now fully connected to Internet and active on the social media. With growth in the product scope and increased readership,it became inevitable for the organization to invest in the full colour press and the computer to plate (CtP) which both enhanced the quality of the Zambia Daily Mail. The company now boasts of a modem web press with capacity to print up to 40,000 16 paged broadsheet publications per hour.

We have a well serviced fleet of pick-ups which handle our delivery capability to specific routes in the Copper belt, Livingstone, Siavonga and Chipata. Apart from moving our newspapers and mail through our distribution network, we offer parcel delivery service along our routes. Maximum care for our clients' parcels is always our priority. We make daily deliveries and our rates are very competitive.
