In 1988, Sadam Hussein, “The former leader of Iraq” visited Zambia on the invitation of Zambia's first Republican President Kenneth Kaunda. On this visit the former Iraqi leader had the honour of having one of the main boulevard in the capital named after him, Sadam Hussien Boulevard.
