Kabange Mupopo (born 21 September 1992) is a Zambian sprinter and football player who won Gold in African Games in September 2015. She is the striker and captain of the Zambia women's national football team, Shepolopolo and she represented Zambia at the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics in women's athletics.

Mupopo started playing association football as an 11-year-old, inspired by her brother.[1] She played for Green Buffaloes F.C. and the Zambia women's national football team; as team captain, she led Zambia to the 2014 African Women's Championship tournament, where they were eliminated in the group stage.[1][2]

Mupopo picked up athletics in 2014, running 53.44 for 400 metres in her first official meeting.[1][3] She represented Zambia at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where she ran 53.09 and was eliminated in the semi-finals.[1][4] In August, she took silver in 51.21 at the African Championships in Marrakech, breaking the Zambian record; she lost the gold to Nigeria's Folashade Abugan, who ran the same time, in a photo-finish.[5] Mupopo qualified to represent Africa at the 2014 IAAF Continental Cup, also in Marrakech, where she placed fourth and improved her national record to 50.87.[1][4] Mupopo received an 18-month athletics scholarship from the Zambian Olympic Committee in 2015, leading her to concentrate on athletics and not football.[6][7]

On Saturday 13 August she qualified to the semi-finals at the round 1 women's 400m where she was placed in lane six of heat seven and finished second clocking 51:76 seconds behind Jamaican Shericka Jackson, who was only three mili-seconds faster.[10]

On Sunday 14 August she failed to qualify for the women's 400 meters final when she came out in 7th position in the semi finals with a time of 52.04. She finished three second behind the qualifying threshold set by Shaunae Muller of Bahamas.[11]
