Winston Manyeta[1] (born 1970 died 7 July 2012) popularly known as "DJ Americano" was a Zambian DJ at the college radio, Hone FM in Lusaka.

Early life

Manyeta was born in 1970 in Eastern Province.[2]

Career

He started his DJ career in 1989 in Ndola on the Copperbelt. He moved to Lusaka and joined dancing Club Chez Ntemba.[1] In 2003 he joined Hone FM Radio where he was anchor of a radio show called "JIVE TALKING SHOW" on Wednesdays and Saturdays.[2]

Death

On 4 July 2012, Manyeta was admitted to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) after suffering from pneumonia. He died on 7 July 2012 at age 42. He was survived by a wife and six children.
