Winston Manyeta[1] (born 1970 died 7 July 2012) popularly known as "DJ Americano" was a Zambian DJ at the college radio, Hone FM in Lusaka.

Early life

Manyeta was born in 1970 in Eastern Province.[2]

Career

He started in DJ career in 1989 in Ndola on the Copperbelt and joined Hone FM Radio in 2003. He was anchor of a radio show called "JIVE TALKING SHOW" on Wednesdays and Saturdays.[2]

Death

On 4 July 2012, Manyeta was admitted to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) after suffering from pneumonia. He died on Saturday 7 July 2012 at age 42. He was survived by a wife and six children. The funeral was held at Manyeta's house in Lusaka's Garden Compound.[3] He was put to rest on 10 July 2012 at Lusaka’s Leopards Hill Cemetery.[1]
