Chishala Chitoshi popularly known as Gesh Groove is a Zambian MC, radio/TV presenter and producer. He is also the founder of Flava FM, a radio station based in Kitwe.
Early life and education
Chitoshi did his first half of primary school in the UK and finished upper primary school at Itawa Primary School in Ndola when his family moved back to Zambia from the UK. He further went on and did his secondary school in Botswana in 1980, then later went to study law at Thames Valley University UK in 1991. In 1996 he went to Law Practice Institute in Lusaka for his legal practitioners qualifying course.
He practised law for 10 years and later quit active practise to venture into other businesses.
Career
He first debuted on ZNBC's Radio 4 as a presenter during his summer break from law school in 1993. From 1999 to 2006 he was radio presenter on Radio Phoenix. He has also been a presenter on Big Brother Africa and M-NET’s Studio 53. While working for M-Net, he was accorded with the first True Ebony Production’s Award as Zambia’s Best Individual Promoter.
In 2004 he was awarded fellowship to attend an international course in facts and formats for radio and TV at Radio Netherlands. In same year, he was contracted to be a field presenter, and later producer, for M-Net's lifestyle magazine programme, Studio 53.
In 2007 he founded Flava FM, a Kitwe-based radio station broadcasting on 87.7Mhz on the Copperbelt.
