Catherine Phiri (born 19 July 1992) is a female Zambian boxer from Lusaka.

Boxing career

Catherine debuted on 25 July 2011 when she defeated Zambian boxer Esther Chalwe at the National Sports Development Centre in Lusaka.[1] She won the title of the World Boxing Council bantam weight champion by defeating the Mexican boxer Yazmin Rivas on 30th January 2016 in Mexico.[2] She became the first Zambian to win the linear WBC title after the legendary Lottie Mwale failed at the attempt in the 80s when he lost to Saad Muhammad.[3]
