Ballard was born on 17 November 1968. He was born in a home full of musical instruments. When he was born, his older siblings had already been conscripted into the art. He has also developed a reputation of being a reclusive artiste, rarely giving interviews and rarely performing live. [1]

He went to Kansenshi Secondary School in Ndola and later did his tertiary education at Binary University College of Management & Entrepreneurship in Malaysia.
