Soul Masala is Maureen Lilanda's fifth album released in 2007. The song was based on music from the soul and Masala means mixture. This album has many genres and features the song "Mulindi" which Maureen dedicated to her late mother. “This is the song I wrote for my mother passing on. I was thanking my father in that song but before he could hear the finished project, he died as well,” she said.
